Unexpected Results
It appears that my assistant was brought into my lab just in time. The experimental vaccine has proven a failure, but with several unforeseen side effects. While her body has indeed become infected, the vaccine seems to have somehow have affected the virus, changing it. She seems to have maintained her mental capacities to a greater extent than any other infected I have encountered. She lacks the violent nature found in those infected with H1Z1, but still possesses the physical changes brought on by the virus. As of now, it is unclear whether she is capable of passing on the virus to others, but at this time it does not appear that she is able to. Most subjects maintain the knowledge they possessed before their contamination, but are not able to gain any more after the virus is fully metabolized. My assistant, whose special condition I have named the Amalgam Process, seems to have maintained the ability to learn after her infection. This is a frightening concept, knowing what it could mean if the infected could all become this way. For this reason, along with my desire to continue studying the Amalgam Process, I have placed my assistant in a high powered holding unit. With the amount of energy it takes to run the unit, nothing could get in or out without my permission.
